back to the corn fields...

Gabe and I have been spending some time in Indiana at his parents house...and Oh, how I have missed the cornfields! The simplicity of summer here is so wonderful. corn on the cob, lemonade and cool evening are something I have missed. The country is a different life than the one we have been living and I've missed it. Instead of stop lights, parking lots and malls there is country roads full of corn fields, farmhouses and big decks. While my time here is slow moving and at times boring, I am appreciating how relaxed life can be. I can't wait to return to my little home in the city, but I am definitely enjoying this country summer.

over the fourth of july weekend Gabe and I traveled to Chi-town for a wedding and a college reunion of sorts. I was honored to be a asked to sing at the wedding and I had a blast doing it! both the bride and groom were in my wedding last year and I was so excited to be in theirs too! Allison also asked if I would make sure the reception hall was set up so she could get ready worry free. I happily obliged and Gabe and I spent the afternoon before the wedding decorating the reception hall. we had a lot of small details to take care of and the breeze coming in off the nearby lake was not helpful! it turned out great and the bride and groom had a blast!
